to Programs and Organizations
Pat Harvey has extensive experience in the following areas:

PROGRAM AND STAFF DEVELOPMENT including:

  • Designing Residential programs;
  • Creating positive behavior systems – point and level systems – within programs
  • Designing Supportive Housing programs
  • Working within a larger mental health system, collateral and cooperative work with other
    organizations and systems
  • Residential staff training and staff development in cognitive behavioral treatment and
    DBT approaches to working with clients
  • The Development of one of the first adolescent programs designed and implemented
    entirely around the DBT therapeutic framework. This program, The Grove Street
    Adolescent Residence, won an APA Gold Award for Community Services in 2004.


FACILITATING EFFECTIVE WORK WITH CONSUMERS including:

  • Transitioning individuals from the hospital to community support services, from hospitals
    to group homes to supportive housing
  • Using positive behavioral plans and contracting to diminish problematic behaviors and to
    teach and increase more effective behaviors
  • Using DBT skills and principles with a wide variety of populations including
  • adolescents and transition age adults,
  •  impulsive individuals ,
  • individuals with mental illness as well as
  • parents and family members of individuals with mental illness
  • Using DBT skills in residential and rehab programs

PAT IS CURRENTLY:

  • Providing training and consultation to Adventist Behavioral Healthcare in DBT Skills and
    techniques, helping to develop in-patient adolescent units that provide DBT treatment.

Pat has provided clinical – behavioral consultation to the the clinical and residential
programs at St. Luke's Home, Inc. and to the ARC (Association of Retarded Citizens) of
Howard County.
